Jerry Garcia sang, “What a strange trip it has been.” That line could describe Baron’s last year. We don’t know a lot about Baron (aka Lucky’s) origin, only that last year he was found as a stray in Beirut picking through garbage to find something to eat. The veterinarian that was in charge of his care was not sure that Baron would survive. Baron was put on a special diet and a foster home was found for Baron, where he put on weight and regained his health. This spring, with the help of a volunteer (truly a guardian angel), transportation was arranged for Baron to the United States via Animals Lebanon.
Once in the United States his guardian angel reached out to our friends at Charwill Kennels who was able to provide him a short term stay while we made arrangements for Baron to come into our foster program. Baron was given a clean bill of health by our veterinarian and is on the road to recovery and hopefully his forever home.
Baron is a gentle boy, quiet with new people he meets but his eyes light up when he meets new dogs. He is a pure bred German Shepherd. We believe that Baron would do great in a home with other dogs (though we aren’t too sure about cats).
From Beirut to Pennsylvania to a nice comfortable foster home in Southern New Jersey, to his forever home at the Wild Apple Ranch, Baron’s trip has been full of surprises. It was worth the effort and now Baron will enjoy a loving family and wide open spaces!
If you are interested in Baron, shoot us a request for more information at firstname.lastname@example.org or fill out an adoption application form.
Sedona Shepherd Sanctuary is a 501(c)3 non profit rescue dedicated to finding homes for adult and senior German Shepherds and shepherd mixes. We are based in New Jersey and will adopt to homes in New Jersey, Eastern Pennsylvania, Delaware, New York City, Southern New York and Long Island. If you are outside of this range, send us an email or give us a call and we will see if we can make arrangements to find a home with one of our dogs or one of the other rescue groups we work with.
