LUKE – 10 Month Old Lab Mix

Meet Luke a very happy and playful 10 month old Lab  mix available for adoption through Sedona Shepherd Sanctuary. Luke is looking for some stability in his life. His first owner left him with a room mate and his second owner couldn’t keep him. Luke was on his way to being a stray on the streets when we heard about his story. Quite frankly, he was just too darned cute to let that happen, so even though he clearly doesn’t have any German Shepherd in him, we brought him into our program.

Luke is a medium sized dog, about 50 pounds.  Luke loves to play with new dogs and has a number of four legged friends, including Dolly, a German Shepherd with Shepherd’s Hope Rescue.   He is very affectionate and enjoys snuggling.  With a soft smooth coat, you will find yourself constantly wanting to give Luke lots of petting and scratching.  Luke can be nervous in new unfamiliar surroundings, especially if there is too much activity going on.  We have been socializing Luke since he entered our program and been building up his confidence in new settings.

Based on his background and excitability, Luke would do best with a family that doesn’t have young children. In addition to Luke’s great qualities, if you live in Morris, Union, Essex counties or nearby areas, Canine Dimensions will provide 4 free in home training sessions. If you are interested in Luke, shoot us a request for more information at or fill out an adoption application form.
