Meet our big lovable boy named Rex.  A pure bred German Shepherd, Rex just loves to make new friends.  He is happy to come over and say hello and press his big soft coat against your body.  Rex is 6 years old and a bit on the hefty side right now.  We have him on a diet and exercise regiment since entering our program.  Although he lived in a city setting most of his life, Rex has taken to the countryside at his foster home, enjoying the soft grass and meeting new people.

Rex is excellent with people and is looking for a home with no other animals.  He will bark at other dogs and his previous owner said he never lived with other dogs.  He has been house trained and knows his basic commands.  He doesn’t need a lot of exercise, just a lot of affection and love.  Rex would be great in a home with teenagers or with grown children.

If you are interested in adopting this wonderful big and friendly German Shepherd, please shoot us a request for more information at or fill out an adoption application form, which is the same as our foster form.

Sedona Shepherd Sanctuary is a 501(c)3 non profit rescue dedicated to finding homes for adult and senior German Shepherds and shepherd mixes. We are based in New Jersey and will adopt to homes in New Jersey, Eastern Pennsylvania, Delaware, New York City, Southern New York and Long Island. If you are outside of this range, send us an email or give us a call and we will see if we can make arrangements to find a home with one of our dogs or one of the other rescue groups we work with.
