SARGE – ADOPTED

Sarge is a young, fun, and energetic German Shepherd.  A youngster in Sedona’s program, we estimate Sarge to be about 1-2 years old.  He is a bit cautious at first when meeting new people and at first will gravitate towards women.  During his interactions with our volunteers Sarge warmed up to men and women.  He has really come into his own since entering our program and he loves to play and has a good amount of energy.   Sarge is happy to go on a long leash walk and enjoys a nice adventure in a car.

Currently in a foster home with two cats, Sarge is apprehensive about incurring any wrath from the cats, so he keeps a wide distance.  Sarge was originally found as a stray and was a favorite at Ocean County Shelter where he received all of his vaccinations and was neutered.

Sarge would do best in a home that has some experience with active dogs.  He appears to be comfortable around other dogs, and could possibly be good in a home with cats.  Since we do not know a lot of his history and he can be shy upon first meeting, a home with respectful older children would be fine.  As a requirement for adoption, any adopter must agree to enroll Sarge into obedience training.   Preference will be given to adopters that have a fenced in yard.
