Note: We have met Tank, he is a nice dog looking for a good home.  Tank is a courtesy listing for Shepherds’ Hope and located in Morris County, NJ.

Children: Good with children, preferably teenagers
Dogs: Social but best in no dog household
Cats: No
Fenced Yard: Preferred Not Required
Experience: Must have prior big dog or GSD Experience

Tank is a big hunky male German Shepherd.  He was originally found as a stray, so while we don’t know his actual age, we believe he is not more than 4 years old.  Tank loves to hang outside and play and chase soccer balls, footballs, or any large toy.  Like many German Shepherds, he can be a little aloof at first with meeting new people, but will eventually engage and ultimately become a good friend.   He is an energetic boy who would benefit from having a large yard to run in and play.

Prior to coming to Shepherd’s Hope. Tank had a rough start.  Hew was found as a stray, severely emaciated, dehydrated and with a urinary tract infection.  After spending time in a home via Shepherd’s Hope, Tank fully recovered and is now healthy and strong.

Tank has been exposed to younger children and is good with them, but based on Tank’s size and energy level, he would do best in a home with older children.  He will need an owner with previous big dog experience.

If you are interested in finding out more about Tank, including the possibility of fostering or adopting Tank, please fill out Shepherds’ Hope adoption application.

About Sedona Shepherd

Sedona Shepherd Sanctuary is a rescue dedicated to finding homes for adult and senior German Shepherds throughout New Jersey and surrounding areas.  In addition to rescuing German Shepherds, when space allows us, we rescue dogs that are at a high risk of being euthanized at a shelter or a home environment, that might not necessarily be a German Shepherd or mix.
