Jack

Jack is an adult German Shepherd who likes to go on walks, play fetch and be with his people. What more can we say? When Jack originally came into our program, he was having pain issues with his back legs. We don’t know if it was from a prior injury, but he would get uncomfortable with being handled, predominantly in the back legs. Once we realized the issue, we placed Jack on mild dose of anti-inflammatory and pain medication. Since on this regiment, Jack has turned into an affectionate and playful dog. Well unless you are a vet, then he gets a little persnickety.

He enjoys time out on his walks, he likes to play with his soccer ball and otherwise just hanging out. If you are at the far end of a field, Jack will come sprinting back to you. While it might take a week or so, Jack will bond closely to any new owner. Jack is trust-worthy in the house and healthy. He had a few rough stretches along the way, including losing part of his tail, and recovering from being attacked by another dog. He handled both in stride. For the most part, Jack has a live and let live attitude towards other dogs, though he would be best in a home as the only dog. In one foster home, there was a cat, and Jack was a little too interested.

When Jack first arrived, he did live in a home for a week and has spent time in a very special foster home. However, Jack can be a bit temperamental and has his “circle of trust” of human friends. We all love Jack at Sedona and have decided that his best life will be as a permanent member of Sedona Shepherd.

Please help us to with Jacks monthly care (including anti-inflammatory medication) by sponsoring Jack. Sedona Shepherd is a no-kill rescue and Jack can live the rest of his life safely and happily with the attention and love he deserves.
